Trae Young Academy Player Evaluations - Winter 2025

2nd-8th Grade Boys and Girls

The purpose of the Trae Young Basketball Academy is to provide opportunities for Norman's youth to play basketball in a competitive environment and grow our young athletes' love for basketball. Our teams will compete in tournaments and leagues, teach fundamentals through practices and skills sessions, and work on communication, discipline, focus, and gamesmanship through creating a positive environment for our young athletes to compete and learn basketball.

If your player is interested in the Academy but is not available for these evaluation dates, please reach out and we will work to accommodate.

  • What is Trae Young Academy?: Trae Young Academy (TYA) is a youth basketball club housed at the Young Family Athletic Center.
  • Who can join?: TYA has teams for 2nd through 8th grade boys and girls.
  • How does my player join?: Register for and attend player evaluations. Offers will be sent within 1 week of the completion of evaluations.
  • What if my player misses evaluations?: Contact TYA for scheduling of an alternative evaluation date.
  • What is included with membership to TYA?: -Placement on a roster led by an experienced coach. -Weekly team practices held at YFAC. -Weekly group skills sessions held at YFAC. -Team registration to local tournaments and leagues.
  • What is the cost of membership?: Membership dues will be a set monthly fee. The price for the Jan-Apr 2025 is $140/mo.
  • How long is the commitment?: TYA is run in 4 month increments: Sept-Dec, Jan-Apr, and May-Aug. Players will be asked to commit through the end of the period in which they enroll.
